Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

• 500 g pork mince
• ½ cup breadcrumbs
• 1 brown onion, grated
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
• 1 tsp thyme, leaves
• 3 puff pastry, sheets
• 1 egg, beaten, for glaze
• 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Steps

1. 1Heat the oven to 200°C / 400°F and line two trays with baking paper.
2. 2In a bowl, combine the mince, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, parsley, thyme and a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until evenly seasoned.
3. 3Cut each pastry sheet in half and pipe or spoon a sausage of filling along the long edge of each strip.
4. 4Roll the pastry over the filling, sealing the seam underneath. Cut each long roll into four short pieces.
5. 5Place seam-side down on the trays. Brush with egg, scatter sesame seeds, and slash a small vent across each.
6. 6Bake for 25–30 minutes until puffed and deeply golden. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
